Retainer Wear & Care Instructions

After completing orthodontic treatment, wearing a retainer is critical, so your teeth don’t revert to their former position. In this YouTube video, one of our team members shows how to properly place the retainer in your mouth and how to remove it for cleaning.

You just need a manual toothbrush and cold tap water, ensuring you’re supporting the retainer so it doesn’t crack or break. Denture cleaning tablets can also be used if brushing alone doesn’t do the trick.

A retainer needs to be worn all day and night, and only taken out for eating and cleaning your teeth. To safeguard your retainer, be sure to store it in the container we give you at your appointment. We will check your retainer at each appointment.
