Keeping your teeth clean while wearing braces doesn’t have to be tricky. In this YouTube video, one of our team members discusses the importance of proper brushing to avoid decalcification lesions-those unsightly white spots that are the result of plaque left sitting on the teeth or around the braces for a period.
It’s important to brush for at least two minutes, using a circular motion, and get between the gums and the brackets. Interdental brushes should be used to clean between the brackets under the wire. Other tips to keep your teeth healthy include drinking water after meals and avoiding sugary or acidic foods and drinks. And be sure to see your dentist for a checkup or clean.
